Project 1: Beyond Songs

Inspired by the choir performance of the Charity Snail Baby children's choir with hearing impairments, I led the completion of the "Beyond Songs" project. We went deep into the Shanghai Rehabilitation Center to accompany the Snail Baby Choir (the first choir of hearing-impaired children). Not only did we participate in the daily rehearsals, but we also took the lead in developing the "Beyond Songs" composition software, helping the hearing-impaired children perceive the rhythm through vibrations and "hear" their songs in a visual way, winning the Bronze Prize in the intel. From technical debugging to emotional companionship, I broke down the communication barriers, making technology adapt to people rather than the other way round, and allowing those silent worlds to resonate. At the same time, I collected the stories and dreams of the hearing-impaired children, completed original songs for the choir, and had the hearing-impaired children sing them.

Project 2: Fandom Studies

School Leadership

As the director of the Arts Department, I was responsible for organizing numerous large-scale events such as charity activities, cultural weeks, radio audio stations, and campus singing competitions. I also wrote multiple posts for the campus public account and contributed to the development of campus culture.

Project 1: Student Government - Charity

As the overall planner and director of the FM Charity event, I led the team through challenges from theme development to program planning. We refined the concept through three review rounds, coordinated staff roles, and even designed gifts for the cast. Despite high costs and scheduling conflicts, I persisted, continuously liaised with organizers, and guided my team to deliver a seamless three-hour charity performance.

Project 1: Student Government - RadioAudio

I am in charge of managing the Radioaudio station. We collect music and record and play the campus broadcasts every week, bringing relaxation to the students' busy campus life.

Project 1: Student Government - Sing

After the pandemic, the school's campus singing competition has been cancelled for many years. I have resumed organizing this event, starting all over again from the planning, theme selection, and schedule arrangement. During this process, I arranged each review, designed multimedia content, and produced promotional posters and videos. I also served as one of the judges and gave scores to the contestants.

Project 1: Student Government - Cultural Week

During each Chinese Culture Week, I was in charge of organizing the day related to literature and art, arranging various art clubs to perform and writing the review posts.

Project 2: Chinese Dance Club

As president of the Chinese Dance Club, I led performances for club exhibitions, Chinese Culture Week, charity events, and graduation reunions, showcasing traditional dances like the sword dance to promote Chinese culture on campus.

Project 3: Animal Protection Club

As vice president of the five-star Prologue Animal Protection Club, I raise awareness about stray cats’ hardships, lead TNR treatment and sterilization efforts, and organize craft workshops and sales to fund rescues. I also manage publicity on the club’s official account, boosting reach and impact.

Project 4: MuseHolic Club

As the deputy leader of the Museholic Singing Club, I have participated in numerous cultural week performances, large-scale charity events and album recordings. Through music, I have helped promote the campus spirit beyond the boundaries of the school.

Project 5: Techomedia Club (TedX)

I am an important member of the Techomedia Club. Our club held the TEDxWFLA event, focusing on the theme "Women at Tie" to showcase how remarkable women have overcome obstacles in their respective fields and convey the strong voice of the times.

Researches

Project 1: China Thinks Big IP

This study explores how social media shapes teenagers’ psychology when purchasing IP-related merchandise. It analyzes how short video ads, recommendation algorithms, and online fan communities drive impulse buying, emotional attachment, and price insensitivity. Using surveys, interviews, and literature review, it identifies key factors such as media exposure, advertising literacy, and social belonging, while highlighting both the cultural identity benefits and risks of overconsumption among young audiences.

Project 2: Conrad 2023

I participated in the 2023-2024 Conrad Innovation Competition and advanced to the national semi-finals. Our project was to invent an assay reagent that could predict the Panama disease of bananas in advance and promote the kit on the market, thereby reducing losses and ensuring the healthy development of the banana industry.

Project 3: Conrad 2024

I participated in the 2024-2025 Conrad Innovation Competition, where I was responsible for the marketing and public promotion of a modular agricultural robot. We aimed to promote sustainable agriculture through customizable environmental sensors, and ultimately won the bronze award.

Project 4: HIR Research

I participated in the HIR Harvard Writing Competition, conducted research on the impact of dating apps in society, and wrote a short essay. The essay advanced to the presentation stage and won the commendation award.

Project 5: John Locke Media-Government

I participated in John Locke and discovered the impact of IQ on marriage decisions, arguing that marriage decisions are ultimately the result of a multitude of diverse factors beyond just IQ.

Project 6: Pioneer Research

I participated in the Pioneer online summer school and studied "Media and Society". I learned about the media and wrote a paper on how fans maintain the popularity of their idols through social media and how the fan economy works, eventually receiving an A grade.

Music Engagement

This section showcases the student’s music and dance engagement, including participation in the choir, creating a personal music account, and learning Chinese traditional dance, reflecting a passion for artistic expression and cultural appreciation.

Choral Experiences

As an important member of the Shanghai Student Choir and the Children's Palace Chorus of the China Welfare Institute, I have participated in the Shanghai Summer Music Festival (MISA), jointly founded by the Shanghai Education Commission and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, for six consecutive years. I have also been involved in various important events, including the reception of former Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in China.
